Great Book!

Little Lucy is a beagle dog and she loves her little boy, Bobby Quinn. Lucy and her family go to a lake and pass a farm on the way. When they open the car door, Lucy goes running out into the woods and Bobby chases after her. Bobby wants to play with Lucy in the lake, but Lucy doesn't want to go into the lake.
Since Lucy doesn't want to go into the lake, she gets tied up so she doesn't run away. Lucy gets loose and nobody notices. Lucy goes off to explore. She see a bird and a frog, and was hot and dirty. She wanted to find her family. She smells the hamburgers grilling and knows that that is where her family is, so she follows to smell back to her family. They are happy to see her, but since she is dirty, they say she needs a bath in the lake. Lucy didn't like the lake water in the beginning of the book, but in the end, she actually learns how to swim and she likes the water.
I liked that this book was about a little beagle that was small and cute. I also like that she ends up finding her family. I would recommend this book to everyone my age!

This series is great for the kids !

I have been buying a variety of this "Step Into Reading" series books for my granddaughter, in order to help improve her reading skills. I have bought levels 1-4. She is on a level 3 now in school, so that is what I buy the most of now. However, I do feel she needs some challenges and have bought a couple of level 4 books which we work on together. She is really improving and I think much of it has to do with this group of books. The stories are cute and hold their interest, the artwork is fabulous and the authors write on level, as noted for each book, but include some new challenging concepts. I will continue to boy these for many more of my grandchildren !!

Little Lucy Step 3 book

I ordered this book for my son. He normally only likes books if they have Spongebob or one of the other characters he likes in them so he didn't exactly want to read this book at first but he ended up liking it after all. I like the Step into Reading books and how I can pick them and know that they will be okay for his current reading level.
