CHRIS JOHNSON is a nationally recognized speaker and author. He is the founder and CEO of On Target Living, a wellness consulting company that helps organizations achieve fitness goals and increase efficiency. Chris holds a master's degree in exercise physiology and certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.

Read this book - for your sake and others

Let me preface this review by saying I'm not the guy who usually writes reviews. I'm also not the guy that says he doesn't write reviews but does write them, check my record. I'll make this short and sweet. Buy this book and read it. I'm in my mid-30's and my father is suffering from mid-to-late stage Alzheimer's and I only wish I could have learned intel from Chris Johnson earlier. I'm in no way implying it would have prevented his, but I can tell you that small incremental lifestyle adjustments may have helped. It is with that spirit that I have absorbed anything and everything I can get my hands on from Chris Johnson's camp. You see, I have a 3yr old son and I want to do everything in my power to enable him and educate him on this stuff by learning it myself and helping ward off dis-ease (for both our sakes). The stuff he says simply makes sense and after some time and discipline of his principles, your body will respond differently (in a positive vitality kind of way - at least mine has). In an era where everyone talks Atkins, cleansing, fasting, hydration, South Beach, high cab/low carb, blah blah blah it can get overwhelming and downright confusing. This book is written in a clear and concise manner. It is only one in a handful of books that I have read in one sitting and yet still continually reference back to. Not everything Chris recommends is easy or cheap, but I can assure you that the cost of not at least reading this book, will pale in comparison in the long run. People read self help books all day long while eating potato chips and sitting on their duff at the coffee shop. Doesn't make sense... this does. Buy it, read it, and most importantly, even if in small steps, implement.

Must read book if you want to live a healthier, happier, and longer life!

I just finished reading this book for the 3rd time. Each time I learn something new and it reinforces so many useful and educational advice that Chris Johnson provides. There is so much material that you can not absorb it all, thankfully you can read this book in about 4-5 hours.

The book provides a general overview of how the body maintains itself at cellular and ph level. Then discusses balancing life and stress with rest, rejuvenation. Next he goes into detail about proper nutrition and diet/eating from carbs, fats, proteins he then adds exercise and wraps up with big picture goal planning.

I first met Chris 2yrs ago at a weekend retreat on nutrition/exercise/stress mgmt that my company sponsored. It changed my life for the better by opening my eyes to how poorly I was eating and exercising as I had little knowledge about proper diet and exercise. It is sad that our education system does not teach such an important subject. Went to an amusement park yesterday and was shocked at how overweight the average American is as well as the complete junk that Americans are fed. Everything Chris talks about is true in poor food that Americans are fed and use it. The only thing you could eat at the amusement park was pizza, fries, soda, fried chicken, hamburgers.

This is chris 3rd book I believe and each one gets better and better. This book discusses many of the nutrition topics from his last book On Taget Living Nutrition, which I recommend, but added in more comprehensive depth about healthy living not just nutrition such as focusing on rest and rejuvenation whether it be creating "white space" to mediate or close your eyes and rest to getting a massage and sleeping enough. I feel more energy and less lethargic from exercising and eating healthier.

I have adopted many of Chris teachings in taking all the super foods he recommends, exercising 5x a week, drinking tons of water, and sleeping 7hrs a day. Last winter was the first time I have never been sick in my life so have to give his teachings the credit. Still not there with my food being in his inner target rings but have made significant improvements from 2yrs ago. I highly recommend this book as it will change your life for the better. I regularly preach Chris teachings to clients, friends, family members and give his books as gifts to people that I care about and want to live a healthier life.

He has a great website with free monthly email newsletter as well as a iPhone app with tips and videos of his tips. And I follow him on Facebook where he gives reminders to sat healthy and fit. For $16 this book will educate you, change your life for the better, and allow you to live a longer healthier life.

Buy the book, you won't regret it. Knowledge is power.

This Book Has it All!

What Chris Johnson has done in this book is synthesize everything you need to do to live my favorite phrase, "Quality Of Life".

From his humble beginnings as a poison pushing snack distributor to 17,000 personal training sessions, to becoming a global phenomenon in his speaking gigs, I personally can express that Chris Johnson and his book will change your life, it worked for me and it will for you. His knowledge is second to none, he is now leading teaching seminars to physicians who are trying to figure out the routine, if he is teaching doctors I think he can teach us as well, don't you?

Simple to read, not overly science heavy, straightforward and logical, this book is worth its weight in whatever precious substance you want to use, I like to think life is the most precious thing we all have, and maximizing our potential and performance in our daily lives is key.

Chris lays out the plan.

I read a lot of books, and I talk to a lot of experts, being a talk show host that's my job, if I don't like a book you won't see me waste my time writing a bad review, because I won't write anything. So take it from me, this one gets it done!
